Makby: 3D bioprinting software for regenerative medicine

Project fact sheet

Vertical: Customised health

Project description

Makby’s goal is to offer a platform/software for next-generation 3D bioprinting. Its user-friendly and intuitive interface facilitates the design and integration of 2D and 3D constructions, by combining different printing and biomaterial technologies harmoniously.

The platform will help to improve the bioprinting of complex biological constructs, thus resulting in a technological advance in the area of artificial tissue engineering, which is currently stalled. The software is already deployed in different national and international universities.

Tagline: Don’t let software be an obstacle for your research. Makby, the gold standard for 3D bioprinting software.

Financing needs: Around €300,000 The money will be used to cover the costs of the first two years, which include validating and marketing the software.

Technology Readiness Level TRL-8
Venture Readiness Level Traction - BRL5

Market

The Makby market covers three different segments: the academic groups working in cutting-edge areas in regenerative medicine, the contract research organisations (CRO) that offer services to pharmaceutical companies to develop drugs, and the pharmaceuticals themselves.
