HRE Hidraulic is located in Elgoibar and they are specialized in the development of engineering solutions in the field of industrial fluids, covering a multitude of sectors from machine tools and training, assembly and handling machinery, aluminium injection machines, paper mills, food machinery, iron and steel industry, rolling mills and foundries. All these technologies are destined for the automotive, railroad, aeronautics, oil & gas, food and naval sectors, among others.

In HRE Hidraulic ‘s video, you will see in detail the need they faced and the solution they proposed. The project is based on the application of cryogenic refrigeration to cool machining tools and extend their life. It is a model called Becold, which they have been developing for some years and they we have made the validation of the technology for a specific niche, biomedical machining, for bone implants, hips and prostheses.

Need:

To introduce CO2 cryogenic refrigeration technology in the biomedical sector in order to machine and finish prostheses in a way that is not only environmentally friendly but also more hygienically efficient.

Area of the company where the solution is focused:

Machinery and equipment

Company size:

PYME

Sector:

Wholesale trade of other machinery and equipment

Location:

Elgoibar (Gipuzkoa)

Benefits of the Solution:

  • A cooling equipment, alternative lubrication and cooling system based on the combination of cryogenic CO2 gas and MQL
  • Machined with minimal amounts of biodegradable machining tool oil
  • Validation of the technology for a specific niche, biomedical machining, for bone implants, hips and prostheses.
