According to the Barometer of Invest In The Basque Country 2022-2023 on business expectations for 2023 and the existing Business Climate in the Basque Country, 64% of Basque companies with foreign capital in the Basque Country expect to increase their turnover next year, while 26% estimate that their sales will stay the same.
Regarding to the evolution of employment, 44% of the companies surveyed to increase their workforce, while 50% of them believe that it will stay almost the same.
The Barometer also gathers the opinion of Basque companies with foreign capital on the Labour Market and Human Capital in the Basque Country. These data show that the aspects most highly valued by the companies are the technical knowledge of the available workforce (64% consider this to be Very Positive or Positive), as well as their capacity for innovation (58% of the companies surveyed consider this to be Very Positive or Positive). On the less favourable side are labour regulations and knowledge of foreign languages.
Finally, the Barometer of Invest In The Basque Country 2022-2023 lists the factors most highly valued by companies in terms of the Business Climate in the Basque Country. These include the Quality of Life (80% consider it to be Very Positive or Positive), the Innovative Environment (70% rate it Very Positive or Positive) and the Infrastructures available (66% rate it Very Positive or Positive). In the least valued aspect, Real Estate Costs stand out, where 58% of the companies rate it as Negative or Very Negative.
The Barometer of Invest In The Basque Country 2022-2023 is based on the surveys answered by 55 foreign companies established in the Basque Country. The results of the Barometer can be consulted on the SPRI / Invest In The Basque Country website.
